Beginners Adsense

This blog was created before i even signed up for Adsense and therefore before my 1st cent!
I will keep it updated so everyone can track my progress and see if we can make a nice side income out of this.
I am sure its all going to start slow but eventually the potential of home employment might appear. We will see..

Ok, its time to create my Adsense account and by the time its done i think ill have a good article in order to get my first ads here and start making some money!

One more step

Okay, im still waiting for Google adsense to approve my account but you know, it doesn't matter all that much for now..

I found out that:
A. I might have to have my blog up and running for some time before i get an approval from adsense
B. I must start creating my "money making" blog which (in order to be successful) will have rich and unique content focused on a specific topic.
C. I must optimize my blog (S.E.O. = Search Engine Optimization) but also keep it friendly to real people. We will come back to this when its time.

Approval

Yes! My Adsense application has been approved!
This is great because I figured out what the subject of my first blog will be and I am almost ready to start! Its something that I have good experience of and through it, I will be able to help people or just give them some advice that maybe others could not provide.
So yea, you go ahead and do the same. Start your blog based on something you know well and start writing! You don’t have to write a ton of content before you post. When you put together a nice article, post it! In the meantime we will see how to use S.E.O. , Meta tags and those techniques that will make search engines discover our blog making our traffic better and better resulting bigger profit for us through Adsense!

Now, you might ask me, what my blog should be about in order to be successful and make a lot of money?
Well, it really doesn’t matter.. It can be about tennis or fishing, it could be about gardens or trucks, heh it can be about a good technique of solving crossword puzzles!
As long as the content that you put in your blog is really good and its targeted on one subject you are heading for the right direction…

Improving

I think i have the blog the way i want it and have the basic SEO added. As you see, it's now with three columns!
I just want now to see how can i put some colors in so it will look better..

I am very happy!
This blog got indexed by Google search engine in less than a week!! That means that our basic SEO worked!

It doesn't have anything fancy yet, but it's working well and everything is where it should be.
I will now start creating my guide on how i made it, so this might take some time.

My little guide on how to build a blog like this one is ready!
I know it doesn't look like much, but it has a nice layout which lets us put our Adsense ads in the right places and also remains friendly to our visitors.
With a few touches here are there it's going to look much better and that will happen soon.

Very basic seo

It is better to apply any kind of SEO after we have posted our content.

We always want our title and every post title to be as relevant as possible with our content because titles are used as keywords and make the search engines find us easier.

Now, we add our meta tags. These are again keywords which go into our HTML, so again: Dashboard, Layout, Edit HTML.
Again ctrl+f and search for:

Right before this, type this:

Put in a very short but very targeted description of your blog, then the best keywords that would match your content, save your template and you are ready!

Oh, and don’t forget about Privacy Policy! You can get banned if you don’t have it!
Take a look at mine, but to be sure, better check Adsense help and forum about what you want to put in it.

My little guide

First, we create a blog at www.blogger.com and we choose the “minima” template.
Remember, try and find the best possible url (blog name) that would match your content and work as a keyword it self..

Then, we go to our dashboard and we go to “Layout”
There, we choose “Edit HTML”
Hit ctrl+F to open the search in your browser and search for: "#sidebar-wrapper"
After, copy all this:

#sidebar-wrapper {
width: 220px;
float: $endSide;
word-wrap: break-word; /* fix for long text breaking sidebar float in IE */
overflow: hidden; /* fix for long non-text content breaking IE sidebar float */
}

..and paste it right under it.

At the first, change the width to 160px and at the next (that we copied right under) change the with to 160px but also change the “endSide” to “startSide” and the “#sidebar-wrapper” to “#left-sidebar-wrapper”

Scroll a bit over those and find: #main-wrapper
Change the width there to 530px and right next to: float: $startSide; type : margin-left: 15px;

A bit over that, is the: #outer-wrapper
Change the width there to 880px

Now search for: main-wrapper
Right before this, type this:

Last thing (in order to complete our template)
Find: #header-wrapper and change the width to 880px

Save the template and there you have it!
You now need to edit your fonts, color (or whatever else you want) and insert your content. Your blog is ready!
Of course we must apply our optimizations in order to be seen by the search engines (SEO) And you can find the very basics here.
After all that, we get our Adsense ads and where is the best place to put them
